Take a break from the iPhone frenzy, and for my boring Weekly Shorts.

Monday
Back to my 2nd home. Waits eagerly for Macworld San Francisco 2007.

Tuesday
Waits eagerly for Macworld San Francisco 2007.

Wednesday
Macworld is live!! It’s always a pleasure to see my favourite CEO speak on stage. He is charismatic, captivating and with a dash of magic. Steve Jobs is a master at delivering a keynote address, and has been documented as being having one of the most ideal form of presentation style. Interested people can have a look at this article. It’s a good read.

And what’s the first major news in Geek Land? iPhone, iPhone, iPhone, iPhone and more iPhone!

I so want one!

Thursday
iPhone hangover.

Friday
Underwater hockey! Couldn’t join the peeps at SMUX (SMU dive team) on the first time, I heeded Nyan’s call for the second time! Again, I was the only non-SMU dude in a SMU event. hahaha. Anyway, it was quite an experience for me.

Firstly, it was damn cold… It was raining. I was shivering like a mad cow. It was also my very first time swimming with fins on. Actually I did snorkeling at some island before but that was eons ago. So I had to re-accustom myself to using the snorkel and the fins. Had to learn duck dive on the spot. Duck dive is basically to go from the surface of the water to the bottom, quickly.

Underwater hockey is basically hockey, only that it’s played underwater and with a shorter stick. Here’s a video of it. Though it’s supposed to be a non-contact sport, there’s lotsa contact involved! Maybe we are too noobs. And if you have the lungs of a humpback whale, you could be the next world champion in this game. No Kidding!

Had a lot of fun, made a few new friends. Would definitely want to do it again!

Saturday
Went down with my Bro to collect our paycheck. Had a few bites on our way back and that’s it.

There you go! That’s my week!

Something has been on my mind for the past week. I kept thinking and asking myself, why did I do some of the things I did?

Is it because I’m forced to? Not really. Maybe it’s due to pure passion? Probably. Curiosity? Probably. World peace? Impossible. Love? Likely. Or as one of my friend says: “It’s about not losing”? Likely. Vested interest? Very likely.

Still pondering…

Monday

First day of year 2007 (MMVII) of the Gregorian calendar. It is the 7th year in the 21st century, and the 7th year in the 3rd millennium. It is also the current year. It has been designated:

  • International Polar Year
  • International Heliophysical Year

Most of 2007 overlaps with the Year of the Pig in the Chinese calendar. 2007 is the year of the sign Pisces in Western Astrology.

Spent my NYE at Nyan’s house. Too tired to go out today. Stayed at home with little Bro, Pa and Ma. Dad made me some nice breakfast in the morning :)

Thinking back, 2006 was overall a very fruitful year for me.

Tuesday

I can’t remember what I did today. Most probably I did nothing.

Wednesday

Went to return my library books today, then met up with keen, seb and his gf for dinner. Always nice to hang out with them :) Wanted to play some bowling, but SAFRA was having some League, played pool instead.

This was my supper.

Thursday

Woke up late today. Then went to my Bro’s sch, TP Design School, for lunch. Yes.. I went there for lunch! It’s cheap and good, I’m bored, hungry and I can have some eye candy, why not!

Went home and started working on the new NaughtyBananas website. It’s long overdue.. Supposed to finish it by the end of the holidays. Seb and I are still working on it, but things are going fine.

Friday
Went gym with Seb and a special guest today! Keen! Today’s gym was especially fun, the 3 of us talked more then we workout hahaha! Dinner was Shabu-Shabu at Bugis. Bowling and Pool followed.

Saturday

Woke up kinda late today. Lunch was my Mom’s fried rice. It think it’s not qualified to be called fried rice. I think it’s more of a chinese sausage rice with diced mushroom and some other stuffs. Nonetheless, it’s damn good :) Brought some stuffs back to my townhouse. Went to Meidi-Ya with my Bro to check out some product packaging ideas (for his course). I must say, Japanese are really creative and, their attention to details are also reflected in the packaging.

Met Keen to jalan jalan at the Pasar Malam near our house. Bought a lot and ate a lot!

See the 6 patties? They are all ours! 3 x Double-Patty Ramly burgers!

Lastly
I think I have a very boring life…

Monday

Christmas Day. Nothing much happened today. All the exciting stuffs happened before Christmas. Christmas eve at Wala-Wala was great guys! Boring and moodless Christmas, stayed at home throughout the day. Thankfully for the Krispy Kremes, they kept me sane and happy!

Tuesday

Today’s gym session with my buddy, Seb. Whacked extra hard today (had to shed the Krispy Kreme, beers, chicken wings, fudge cakes, cheese cakes, mud cakes, chocolates lah…). Got a call from Jan, asking me to work the next day. I’m to be attached to training department! I love training dept.

Wednesday

Working day. I reported at the usual time at 11am, but only to find out out work starts like 2pm? So Jason and I kept ourselves “busy”. Helped to ready some of the Xserve Raids for delivery later and we “test-drive” the Call Of Duty (CoD) game server, ourselves. 1v1 death match haha

Glowing keys. Took this at one of the training rooms.

The time finally came for us to move the 10 Xserve Raids and 12 30-inch Cinema Displays to Temasek Poly. Each freaking Xserve Raid weighs like 50kg, and cost more than 25K! Damn heavy and expensive stuffs. And it had to freaking rain when we were about to unload the goods at TP.. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! TP design school should get their toilet layout re-worked out, and also please replace your toilet signs! Jay and I only realised we were in the wrong room when we saw the “specialised” bins inside the cubicle..! Anyway, Jason and I were treated to some eye-candy at TP Design School. We call her the Girl-in-green-with-green-earring-which-we-saw-just-outside-the-girls-toilet.

Settled our stuffs at TP Design, and went back to Shop for our post-christmas party. The food was great, CoD Lan Party was fun, so was our in-house DJ, James! Other than that, pretty normal. Didn’t join the guys for post-party party at MOS though, broke + no mood.

Met the guys for supper later that night.

Thursday
Rot at home.

Friday

Gym session. Horror of the Day: I GAINED 2 KG! (hopefully it’s muscle mass, but I highly doubt so. Must be all the late-night supper) Saw Miss 9.5 there once more. Guessed we have to change our gym time to late afternoon, so we can see more of her. Do U hear me Seb?! And yeah, we saw a herd of sheep just outside the gym. yes! Sheep in urban Singapore! And man.. don’t they stink!

Lamb Chops! mmmmmmmmm!

They are actually for the Haji ritual of sacrificing a lamb or goat.

Monday

Didn’t do much. Stayed at home and recovering from the hectic and somewhat tiring SITEX. Met up with Ah Kow at Simpang Bedok later in the night. He was emo, and so am I.

Tuesday

Went for my Laser Dermabrasion appointment in the morning. Yeah, I sort of “went under the knife”. The first question the doc asked was, ” What’s your pain threshold?”

That took me aback a little. But the doc later told me it will feel like tiny needles poking. True enough, the Carbon Dioxide laser that he used wasn’t that painful. Felt like tiny needles poking on my face. And it was over in like 10mins. Initially, I wanted to head for the gym, but doc says I should refrain from going under the sun and excessive sweating. Oh well..

Again, I met up with Ah Kow later that night. Had a great chat with him. Emo and non-emo topics included.

Wednesday

Jiak Kim Street Day. While I was preparing for the night, I got a call from iShop. Asking me whether I could work the next day. I’m supposed to setup 96 machines at Maris Stella High School. I took a look at my wallet, no money. I agreed immediately.

It’s been 6 months since I step into that place. But, as usual, it never fails to cheer us up. The gang was great, the music, was strangely very Emo, many hotties, the new breed of Mambo lao-jiaos are hot. Good night out, but my mind and thoughts were some 10,900km away, and still are.

The gang: Zhihao, Kenneth, Mathhew and Kow

The gang with me in it.

Kow’s gone.

Thursday

Barely recovered from yesterday night, I pulled myself out of bed, washed up and headed for work.

Maris Stella is one place which is very ulu, super ulu until even the birds refused to nest there, it’s beside a cemetery and near the Gurkha Contingent Camp.

Yeah, so our job for the day was to unload 96 iMacs from the truck, carry them up 3 levels (no lifts) and set them all up. 4 of us, and we had to finish by 5:30pm. Moving up the iMacs proved to be a great workout, saved me from going to the gym.

Then came the school’s TA. He’s bossy, has very bad work ethics, don’t know what the hell he is doing at times and he’s got a qian bian face. He’s even disliked by the school’s cleaner.

Unpacking 96 iMacs was no fun.. But it made me realised, those guys who are setting up Windows based PCs, their job is 1000x tougher than us. Imagine the amount of cables needed and they even have to carry 2 boxes for every station! For Macs, 1 box, 3 main components (the iMac, keyboard and mouse), 3 main cables (power, keyboard and mouse) and that’s it! But still..No fun.

Lotsa iMacs.

Lotsa remotes.

Surround-View iMac.

Friday

Supposed to meet up with my Cousin to send our Oakleys for servicing, eat some power lunch and maybe catch a movie. And ya, I’ll be collecting my goods from AE! Finally it’s here. I think I’m the only guy I know who spree online hahaha

Keeping myself busy is good, prevents me from thinking too much..
