Your Body is A Wonderland

Your Body is a Wonderland by John Mayer – My current favourite song. Every time I hear this song, I think of one great girl.

The Fray – Never Say Never

Great song from their latest album

Lenka – The Show

Beautiful song! Very uplifting.

Lenka (born Lenka Kripac in 1978) is an Australian television actress turned ensemble musician with Decoder Ring, turned solo singer-songwriter, most famous worldwide for her song “The Show“, which has been used in numerous advertisements, most notably for Old Navy.

Previously best known as an actress in Australia and as a host of a long-running children’s breakfast cartoon program Cheez TV in Australia, she has appeared in numerous Australian television serials and feature films.

Love Story Meets Viva La Vida

Arranged by the renowned Jon Schmidt. It’s a mash-up of Taylor Swift’s Love Story and Coldplay’s Viva La Vida that he dedicated to his 7 years old daughter.

Beautiful, inspirational, breathtaking.

When The Stars Go Blue

I love The Corrs since my Secondary school days. Their album: Talk On Corners was the very first CD that I actually bought. 10 years today, they still look gorgeous, especially Andrea!

Anyway the other day I was on iTunes store looking for new music and I happened to stumble upon this song: When the Stars Go Blue. What caught my attention was that it is a song sang by The Corrs and U2’s Bono. The 30 seconds preview was what I needed to declare it My Current Favourite Song and My Current Most Played Song!

Did a little research on the song and found out that it’s orignally by Ryan Adams and it has been sang by many other artises including Tim McGraw. Among them, I still like the Corrs + Bono version best. Below is a clip of the song performed by The Corrs and Bono at Live 8. Enjoy the lovely clip!

Elvis Presley – The Legend

I seldom watch American Idols, but I’m glad I caught the special charity episode: Idols Give Back. One of the highlights of the show was a duet by Celine Dion and Elvis Presley. After watching that duet, I’ve finally realized why Elvis was so popular then and even now. His charismatic stage presence, his mesmerizing and passionate voice, his looks.. I’ve officially became a fan of him.

The song: If I can Dream, I could listen to it over and over again, and it gets better each time!

On another note, after watching charity shows like BBC’s Top Gear of The Pops: Comic Relief Special, done for Comic Relief and American Idols: Idols Give Back, done for various causes in Africa, I think Singapore’s charity shows really gotta buck up. In Top Gear of The Pops: Comic Relief Special, like the name suggest, it uses comedy and laughter to get serious messages across, while making sure that everyone who gets involved can have fun at the same time. For Amercian Idols, they use music, the universal language, to spread the message.

We should learn from the foreigners, no need for dangerous stunts, actors and actresses doing (copied) acts.

Having said that, enjoy the video clip!

I’m not afraid of anything in this world
There’s nothing you can throw at me that I haven’t already heard
I’m just trying to find a decent melody
A song that I can sing in my own company

I never thought you were a fool
But darling, look at you
You gotta stand up straight, carry your own weight
These tears are going nowhere, baby

You’ve got to get yourself together
You’ve got stuck in a moment and now you can’t get out of it
Don’t say that later will be better now you’re stuck in a moment
And you can’t get out of it

Hopes And Fears

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

Oh simple thing where have you gone
I’m getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you’re gonna let me in
I’m getting tired and I need somewhere to begin
