SMUX Paintball
Posted on December 4th, 2007 in Daily, Paintball |

Once again I joined another SMU Dive Team (SMUX) event. I think I’ve been to more SMU events than my own University’s event.. Why?? Cos SMUX events are always awesomely fun! This time round is no less!
We went to Octville Country Club in Johor Bahru for some paintball action. Singapore is (currently) just too expensive to play this sport. It took us (and the cab drivers) some navigational adventures before we could reach there.
Ben and Arthur were our coach for the day. By the way, they are from (Red) Sevens - Singapore’s very first competitive paintball team.
Speedball (a variation of Paintball) was the game of the day.
Nyan, Jimmy, Michelle and I formed Team Beaver. Probably because our team was mostly guys, so we were more aggressive. We finished our first game so fast that even Ben was shocked. At the end of the day, we won 5 out of 6 games! Hooo-rah!
Dinner was at some kelong style seafood restaurant. We had to drive through some secluded road.. at one point we thought we were going to be kidnapped… The seafood was amazingly fresh, sweet and succulent. It’s so good that we forgot to take some photos hahaha. And of cos, not forgetting the cute waitress :)
I’ve gotta thank Nyan, my comrade-in-arms for introducing this sport to me.. I think I’m hooked! The adrenaline rush is priceless!
For those who are interested, it cost the 15 of us S$50 each. It includes 270 rounds, use of equipment (face mask, markers), 4 hours (probably more) of fun and excitement.
In Singapore. it will cost around $80 per person. Includes rounds and equipment, but game time is limited to only 2 hours.
Lastly: Be Awesome, Play Paintball.
