Illusion

Saw this video showing an illusion. It’s kinda creepy, but amazing. I didn’t get it at first, but if you keep staring at the head, you’ll see the effect. It’s even got a expert of sort explaining the reasons behind it.

My Lunch for today

Posted on May 25th, 2006 in Daily, Food, Recipe | No Comments »

Fusilli in Creamy Mushrooms & Herbs with sausages

How to prepare:

1) Go to to your nearest NTUC grab a bag of Fusilli (or any kind of pasta), and a bottle of Dolmio Creamy Mushroom & Herb sauce

2) Get a pot, add some salt and 4 litres of water to every 500g of pasta (the salt is to increase the boiling point of the water, so that the pasta cooks faster).

3) Heat a little oil in a pan, cut up some sausages and stir fry.

4) Pour the sauce into the pan, cover and simmer gently for 3 minutes. Add dash of pepper if you want.

5) Pour the sauce over the cooked pasta.

6) Garnish with lots of Parmesan cheese!

HongKong Cafe

hkcafelogo.JPG Hong Kong Cafe is situated along East Coast Road (after St Patrick School). The first time I saw the shop was when I went to the Chai Chee Minced Pork Noodles (Bak Chor Mee) right beside it. By the way Chai Chee Minced Pork Noodles is not as good as they claimed. The one at Changi Village beats them hands down, furthermore, the staffs there can be rude (speaking from personal experience).

Back to Hong Kong Cafe, my Brother and I decided to check it out after hearing rave reviews from Class 95 Love Songs’ Supper places.

Their selection of food is excellent! Noodles, rice, snacks, desserts and an assortment of fancy drinks like Teh Peng Float. Every dish has either a “BEST” or “GOOD” tied to it. So I settled for the Stewed Beef Brisket Noodles and my Brother had the Pork and Chicken Chop Rice.

No New Phone, no movie

Posted on May 21st, 2006 in Daily | 4 Comments »

Supposed to get myself a new phone, SE K750i, yesterday. Yeah I know it’s not exactly the latest model, but it’s the best phone in its price range. But Starhub, in all its wisdom, decided to up the price of the phone, difference of $50 (I’m a very poor chap), when the previous month-long prevailing price was $198! So I decided to wait for the price to drop again, hopefully.

No phone equals a very pissed off Dewei. Da Vinci Code was packed till midnight, so we decided to go E2Max. My first time there, and I would say it’s not worth the $3.50 for the public area. The games were very limited. After that we had dinner at some cheap-but-not-bad ramen shop.

Then we got something very peculiar from the ramen shop waitress. She said to us: You know that this is not a buffet restuarant right?

I mean of course we know! Are we that dumb? So we clarified with her, then we found out that there’s actually this group of JC-kids who went there and thinking that it’s a buffet restuarant…. What the hell is wrong with JC kids these days man…

After dinner we went to iShop to pay a visit to Singapore’s Hard Gay. Gayed around with him for a while then went to Balcony beside Heeren. Not a bad place to chill out. Nice decor, good vantage point for girls and nice cars, they even got a jacuzzi right in the middle!

Still no phone.. very pissed..

Great Outing! S09 Rocks

Posted on May 18th, 2006 in Daily | 5 Comments »

I’m back!!! After a very long hiatus, I’m BACK! I’m now working on the new design, so please bear with the default Wordpress theme at the moment.

Anyway, yesterday went out with my JC classmates, 01S09. It supposed to be a mini-gathering of 5, but more than 10 turned up! The funny thing is, whenever we tried to plan for a big gathering, only a tiny number of people would turn up…

We were supposed to go to a place at Lucky Plaza called The Rabbit Restaurant (they sell rabbit meat and all things rabbit, you can even buy one as pet if you like). But because of our sheer number of people, the shop cannot fit us in. And so we went over to NYDC @ Wheelock. Same thing, our number is just too overwhelming for them. And so finally landed ourselves at Fish & Co’ at Wheelock.

Great food, great chat, juicy gossips, mind-boggling updates!

One of them is getting married 2 years later another one has found herself a new beau. Basically yesterday’s chat was revolving around the ladies.

Time really flies, it’s like only yesterday where we would go to school, chit-chat in tutorial lessons, sleep in lectures and go to the movies after school. And now they are discussing their career paths and prospects and how to survive in the cruel coporate world.

After dinner 6 of us - Yao Quan, Marcus, Penny, Velle, Sharmaine and ME - went to MAMBO! It’s been a long time since i last step in to the world of the 80s (3 months?). First thing first, the DJ OUGHT TO BE SHOT 10 TIMES OVER! He still playing some lousy songs, the dance floor was not packed at 12 am (something not very right for a Mambo night). So while waiting for the sucky music to pass, we drown ourselves in Ethanol concoctions. Then there was a change of DJ at around 1230 am, Mambo is back to its full glory. (or rather half glory)

Like always, I’m sure to meet friends who I didn’t see for a long time at Mambo. Saw Kevin and Nevin, and of course the resident King of Mambo, Ah Kow, was there!

Verdict of Mambo: 6/10
Vedict of the company: Priceless.
