Chai Chee Street Prata

Khan Saab Restaurant Pte Ltd (24H)
The shop
My brother and I had enough of Simpang Bedok’s prata, Jalan Kayu’s are overpriced and ain’t that tasty, the one at Casuarina Road is just too far.

So, I went to Hardwarezone forums to source for new prata place. Then we saw this one which is located at Chai Chee Street. Its reviews were not too bad and we decided to try it out.

The Food

The shop offers a normal Indian and Muslims fare with a large number of Prata and Thosai variant. The Prata egg was normal, just like any decent prata shops - very generic. The Prata Kosong however, is worth a mention. It’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - The perfect prata. The complementary fish curry enhanced the prata. But it’s kinda spicy though. Next is the Mee Goreng. I’ll give it 7 out of 10. The aroma is there, but the taste somehow lacked something, something that the moment you put it into your mouth, both of your eyes are wide open. And I find it a bit saltish. The Teh-Tarik, similar to the Prata Egg, was decent, normal standard.

The Service

The staffs there are some of the more friendly ones I’ve seen at Prata shops. Besides the grumpy Prata chef, the rest of the staffs were chatty and friendly. Service was prompt.

Getting there
Directions
It’s located long Chai Chee Street, under a HDB flat, beside a 7-Eleven store, opposite Bedok ITE. Driving along New Upper Changi road (following the MRT track), Make a right turn into Bedok North Avenue at the junction right after Bedok MRT station. Then make a left turn into Chai Chee Street. Then, keep driving along Chai Chee street and you’ll see the shop on the left.

Overall, it’s not a bad Prata shop, worth trying out.
