Yesterday night, after sending my brother’s friends home from their BBQ gathering, I headed for PIE to go home. I was doing slightly over 90-ish. In front of me was a Zhng-ed Toyota Lite-Ace. I was looking forward and never really looked at the rear mirror.
As I was happily driving, enjoying Class 95’s love songs and chatting with my little bro, then this car just cut right in between me and the Lite Ace. The four-letter hokkien curse phrase started to come out of my mouth, but at the 2nd word, I stopped. It was no ordinary car. It was the King of the road - It was the Zhng-ed Subaru WRX with “POLICE” nicely printed on the sides. The next thing I know, the blinkers were on.
I was going at 90-ish km/h. I’m gonna get my first ticket! But no! The Rex skillfully made a quick verve to the right, beside the Lite Ace.
I promptly reduced my speed to 60+km/h, so did other cars. Close shave, nearly busted!

Khan Saab Restaurant Pte Ltd (24H)

My brother and I had enough of Simpang Bedok’s prata, Jalan Kayu’s are overpriced and ain’t that tasty, the one at Casuarina Road is just too far.
So, I went to Hardwarezone forums to source for new prata place. Then we saw this one which is located at Chai Chee Street. Its reviews were not too bad and we decided to try it out.
The Food
The shop offers a normal Indian and Muslims fare with a large number of Prata and Thosai variant. The Prata egg was normal, just like any decent prata shops - very generic. The Prata Kosong however, is worth a mention. It’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - The perfect prata. The complementary fish curry enhanced the prata. But it’s kinda spicy though. Next is the Mee Goreng. I’ll give it 7 out of 10. The aroma is there, but the taste somehow lacked something, something that the moment you put it into your mouth, both of your eyes are wide open. And I find it a bit saltish. The Teh-Tarik, similar to the Prata Egg, was decent, normal standard.
The Service
The staffs there are some of the more friendly ones I’ve seen at Prata shops. Besides the grumpy Prata chef, the rest of the staffs were chatty and friendly. Service was prompt.
Getting there

It’s located long Chai Chee Street, under a HDB flat, beside a 7-Eleven store, opposite Bedok ITE. Driving along New Upper Changi road (following the MRT track), Make a right turn into Bedok North Avenue at the junction right after Bedok MRT station. Then make a left turn into Chai Chee Street. Then, keep driving along Chai Chee street and you’ll see the shop on the left.
Overall, it’s not a bad Prata shop, worth trying out.

The weather was nice, traffic at the checkpoints was smooth, moods were running high. We reached there just in time for lunch. We headed to this place called Da Si Xi for some dim sum. It’s cheap and the quality was acceptable.
Then we shoot straight to Perma Jayas for the highlight of the day: Go-Kart. When we reached there, the track looked empty and the gate was closed!
“Oh Shit..”, we thought.
But luckily, they were just closed for lunch. So we went to this place called Juscos. It is a damn big one-level shopping mall. Nothing much, but I was amazed by the guy who was extracting the coconut flesh from a fresh coconut. (yeah… sua ku urban boy, never see before).

The STIGs.
2pm - We headed back to the track. Paid for the 80cc variant karts, wore the smelly helmets, took some photos and we’re off. First two laps were familiarising laps. After that, all hell broke loose. Never had I experienced such speeds and G-force in my life! Making the corners at neck-breaking speeds, the high-speed straights and the G-force made every penny worth! After the whole thing, I was quite shagged out and made me realised how hard is to drive the Formula 1 car. Total concentration and sizable amount of physical strength are needed.
Then it’s to Holiday Plaza to check out the latest movies and have them delivered to us - nothing exciting here, so I shall skip this part.

Seafood dinner.
For dinner we had seafood - Butter Oat Crayfish, Calamari, BBQ Sambal Stingray, Sambal Kangkong, Hotplate toufu and Venison with Spring onions. The quality is there, especially the crayfish.
Good trip, can’t wait for the next one!!

This cannot be more true…
